CAMP FACILITIES: Located on a beautiful 114 acre Farm, our programming occurs in our vegetable garden, on our horse trails, and in our wooden barn. Our Camp Site is located in a beautiful wooden canopy, near Little Buffalo State Park, with rustic cabins, a separate bath house, and family style dining hall.

CAMP LEADERSHIP CIT/LIT PROGRAMS: Leadership is the backbone to our program. To us, Leadership looks different for everyone. By building relationships, practicing open and honest communication, and empowered decision making. Our community values self-expression, compassion, cooperative leadership, and living joyfully.

Throughout every aspect of our program, campers and staff develop lifelong friends, indelible memories, and tangible skills. We grow leaders each summer who make lasting impacts on their communities, families, and the world.

Two aspects of our program that specifically are designed for intentional communication, empowered decision making, and relationship building include Crew and Group. Crew is the daily "chores" group that every camper participates in. This is anything from cooking breakfast, to cleaning the stalls and feeding the horses, to taking out the trash and recycling around camp. We do hard work, and then we get to play! Group is our evening program that is defined as "the part of Longacre that makes us unique". This is an intentionally facilitated communication workshop for all of our campers and staff. This is where we use communication tools and skills to better understand ourselves, others, and how we interact with the world.

Longacre Leadership Camp is a residential, co-ed summer camp located in Central Pennsylvania for students aged 8 - 18. We are located on a 114 acre farm 40 minutes north of Harrisburg and will be enjoying our 44th summer this year. Position dates are from June 14th - August 15th 2018.

We hire camp counselors, AKA Big Kids aged 21 and over who are passionate about working with young people and who are committed to building a community. We are looking for staff with a range of skills and expertise including, carpentry, horse riding, arts and crafts, animal husbandry, outdoor education and organic gardening. This position is a blend of farm work and youth work.

CAMP SCHOLARSHIPS OR FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE: At the YMCA, we do not turn anyone away due to an inability to pay. The Y is a non-profit charitable organization that strengthens the foundations of our community. Thanks to donations to the Y's Annual Campaign, we can offer financial assistance to those unable to pay the standard fees.*

OTHER CAMP INFO: Camp Chippewa, located in West Grove at the Jennersville YMCA provides campers from preschool age through 6th grade with a summer they'll never forget. Campers have an opportunity to make friends and participate in a variety of camp activities including: arts & crafts, sports, free swim, field games, community service and weekly themed activities.

Camp Chippewa runs for 14 weeks from May 30 through September 2 and registration for camp is done by the week to allow families flexibility to select camp weeks that work for them. Camp Chippewa also offers a variety of specialty camps including: aquatics, dance, theatre and junior lifeguarding. Camp runs from 9 AM - 4 PM each day, aftercare is included in the price of camp. OTHER CAMP INFO: Stone Mountain Adventures is a co-ed residential camp for 60 teenagers ages 12-16 located in the mountains of central Pennsylvania. We are a very active summer community and do a good job of getting campers excited about all aspects of camp from our adventure and sport activities to going roller skating to going white water rafting together as a group. As with many aspects of teenagers lives our camp is also a very social place and we work hard to model and encourage positive relationships, create community in an authentic way, stop cliques from developing, and take away many of the traditional pressures that teens feel in school. CAMP FACILITIES: One in-person camp will be held at the Georgetown Public Library in July 2025, located in Sussex County, DE.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Beginner coding skills are taught helping children learn sequencing and terms that grown up coders use everyday to create video games and more. Math and Science activities engage your child in learning and our ARTS program helps students understand how computer artists work in the field.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: "The Premier Soccer Training System" - implements our step by step process of physical technique DEMONSTRATIONS, You then IMITATE these demonstrated skills/techniques in training, we then give you the opportunity to EXECUTE these skills in competition with our continued expert guidance and coaching. "The PSTS" is offered at all our Soccer Camps in California, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Florida, Maryland, Pennsylvania, and Washington.

CAMP FACILITIES: Our cabins, dining hall, classrooms, etc. are all air-conditioned. We have a beautiful, heated, junior Olympic size pool. We also have a lake, amphitheater, zip line, basketball court, tennis courts, etc.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Camp Lee Mar is a private, sleepaway camp for children and teenagers with mild to moderate learning and developmental challenges. A structured environment, individual attention and guidance are emphasized at all times. Campers enjoy traditional camp activities PLUS academics, speech and language therapy, music and art therapy, daily living skills, and much more. We also have therapeutic horseback riding, a Zip Line and overnight trips, as well as a Junior Olympic heated pool, modern facilities and air-conditioned buildings (including cabins). Our staff are terrific and come from all over the United States, as well as from overseas. We have a week of orientation with the staff before the campers arrive. This season will be our 70th summer!

CAMP FACILITIES: Summit has approx. 30 traditional wooden cabins with electric and private facilities in each cabin. Our main buildings include our newly refinished dining hall, air-conditioned recreational hall, our medical facility, and a newly built outdoor pavilion. Summit utilizes three A frame buildings for our arts programs, a wilderness treehouse with camp fire area for cookouts, newly resurfaced basketball/tennis courts, high/low ropes course with climbing wall, heated pool, private lake, nature fields with a farm area, martial arts dojo, go-kart track with 3 karts. Summit has a small amphitheatre adjacent to our lake, with a miraculous view of our beautiful setting where we enjoy swimming, canoeing, and riding our banana boats. Our camp resides on a gently rising hillside, thus providing us with the physical basis for our motto, "The Magic on the Hill."

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Summit Camp is a co-ed sleepaway camp for ages 8-19 years with issues of attention: AD/HD, HFA/Asperger’s Disorder, and/or learning differences. Using the frame of a traditional sleepaway camp, we create platforms of success where our campers can experience outcomes such as improved self-esteem, lasting friendships, and increased independence. This is accomplished through a well-orchestrated and expertly staffed backdrop to a largely traditional camp experience- guided challenges, waterfront, adventure course, and more. It is our goal and desire to take our campers from observing peer interactions to engaging in them, to learn and celebrate their own strengths and successes, and to feel a sense of belonging and shared community with those around them while they are with us.

Our Teen Travel program extends the Summit community to provide a safe yet exciting adventure to one of our many attractive national and international destination tours offering 14 day and 19 day excursions. Summit Weekenders provide a youth-group style social retreat for adolescents to have an oasis of independence, enjoyment, and success during the school year months. Regardless of the specific program, Summit provides an expertly staffed, highly structured, and truly fun experience for our youth, and has been doing so since 1969. Summit is accredited by the American Camp Association and takes pride in our long term commitment to and successes in working with special needs youth.

CAMP LEADERSHIP CIT/LIT PROGRAMS: Our Transitions to Adult Living Skills program for youth aged 15-19 provides learning and vocational opportunities for our teens. We also have vocational programs for upper camp including, big brother/big sister, waiter/waitressing, working in a specialty area or as UL assistant, photography, and more. Our SUPER TEEN program focuses on building the executive function and daily living skills OUR kids needs to succeed as independently as possible.

YEAR-ROUND PROGRAMS: Summit provides weekender programs in metropolitan areas throughout the country which run from Friday evening until Sunday mid-day that provide an oasis of social involvement for our youth. NY/NJ and DC/VA weekenders meet on a monthly basis.

CAMP FACILITIES: We have a modern dorm and two modern longhouse facilities, as well as two more rustic dorms. We have a large Dining Hall facility, and a brand new Children's Ministry Building (fit for indoor sports and recreation, as well as meeting places). Additionally, the camp has 200 privately owned cottages, three large RV lots, a large soccer field and baseball field, disc golf and mini golf courses, basketball courts, volleyball courts, and a gaga ball pit. There are two tabernacles, the Main Tabernacle and Youth Tabernacle, for services. The Susquehanna River serves as a great place for swimming, kayaking, canoeing, and tubing.

CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Mahaffey Camp offers a variety of programs, from summer youth camps and family camp to year-long retreats and events. Our staff is a dedicated group of people who are passionate about serving campers of all ages and leading them to a vibrant experience with God. Our mission is "to reach others with the Gospel and teach them about the Lord." Mahaffey Camp aims to be "A Christian Center for Spiritual Growth." Mahaffey Camp is a member of the Christian Camp and Conference Association.

CAMP LEADERSHIP CIT/LIT PROGRAMS: Those who wish to be considered as Counselors or Jr. Counselors should contact the camp office promptly, as available positions fill up quickly. Counselors and Jr. Counselors are required to attend a mandatory Counselor Training weekend, held at the end of May or beginning of June. CAMP SCHOLARSHIPS OR FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE: For scholarship assistance, please contact the camp office. We have a scholarship fund that is used to help sponsor campers who are experiencing financial hardship and need assistance to be able to attend camp.

FAMILY CAMP SESSION(S): Mahaffey Family Camp takes place during the last full week of July every year; in 2018, the dates are July 20 through 29. Events and services are offered for all age groups throughout the 10 days. Special events include a 5k race, Motorcycle Rally, Missionary Rally, Women's Day, Children's Penny Parade, Baptismal Service, and Gospel Concert. The camp store and Dining Hall are open for meals every day, and the craft store (selling merchandise and handmade crafts to benefit camp) is open daily. Dorm Accommodations are available, as well as RV and tent sites. Different types of services are offered, including Adult morning and evening services, prayer and healing services, Teen morning and evening services, Children's ministries, and Fresh Breeze afternoon service.

YEAR-ROUND PROGRAMS: Youth Camps are held in the summer, while many retreats are held throughout the rest of the year. Mahaffey offers a variety of different retreats and events, including Applefest, Quilt Retreats, Scrapbook Retreats, Men's Link, Prayer Retreat, Mother / Daughter Retreat, REPLENISH (youth winter retreat), and private horsemanship lessons. CAMP PROGRAM INFO: Active Learning Services, Ltd operates enrichment programs designed to stimulate creative thinking, improve thinking, logic and memory skills and give children "thinking alternatives" to sports camps and other summer programs. Our dining hall is large enough to seat the entire camp, so we are able to eat all of our meals as one big family. All of our programs combine skill development, challenges and fun, stressing participation and sportsmanship over winning while encouraging campers to get into the spirit of healthy competition.

We pride ourselves on hiring fantastic, talented staff. Our friendly counselors get the kind of training that helps them give their very best to your child. Many of our counselors are former campers who can't wait to share the Lake Owego experience from a first-hand perspective. We also personally recruit counselors from colleges and universities throughout the United States as well as some from Scotland, England and other countries.

Lake Owego Camp is owned by the Black family, who has been operating youth summer camps longer than almost anyone else. In 1931, Hughie and Selma Black founded Pine Forest Camp, which grew over the years to become a nationally recognized co-ed camp. Building on that success, Lake Owego for boys was opened in 1961, and our sister camp for girls, Camp Timber Tops, was opened in 1963.

Today, the third-generation and 4th generation leadership of Mickey and Barbara Black, and their children, Lee and Anna, carry on the family legacy, earning awards such as "Family Business of the Year" and serving as active leaders in the American Camping Association of America.

Directors John and Rachel Waszczak, Kyle Silver, Jeff Freedman and Shelly Silver have over 90 years of combined camp experience, and they work together a fantastic camp experience for each and every Lake Owego camper.

CAMP LEADERSHIP CIT/LIT PROGRAMS: Campers going into 11th grade take part in our Counselor Assistant program, which includes opportunities to assist in teaching activities, assist in younger bunks, go on college tours to NY, MD, PA, MA, and a 2 week trip to Costa Rica. The Costa Rica trip is included in the camp tuition, and the campers will get to explorer and see the sites, go on a canopy zip-line tour, and hike around a volcano, as well as train for and put on a 1 week camp for underserved local children. It is a once in a lifetime opportunity!

FAMILY CAMP SESSION(S): If you're interested in camp for next year, try one of our Explorer Weekends! We offer overnight opportunities during the summer so that interested campers can spend the night in the bunk and experience camp before going away.

We also offer 4-10 day specialty camps during the summer; TOP Basketball, TOP Adventure, TOP Cooks, and TOP Riding (English style Horseback Riding).

Before and after our traditional summer camp dates, camp is available for retreats, rental groups, weddings, and other events.

CAMP FACILITIES: West Chester Studio for the Performing Arts [AT] Uptown is located in the new Knauer Performing Arts Center. We have two acting studios, fully equipped with a stage, props and furniture for acting scenes as well as a piano for our musical theater classes and cabaret performances. Our bootcamps give students an in-depth opportunity to learn concepts that are normally taught at the university level, while our workshops serve as a fantastic introduction to a new subject. CAMP LEADERSHIP CIT/LIT PROGRAMS: Our CIT (counselor in training) program is a learning and transition program for 13, 14 and 15 year-olds. CIT's are organized into groups of 15 boys or girls and get to experience the best of two world's at camp. The counselors for these groups are chosen for their mature, yet youthful, outlooks. A CIT day encompasses work experience, bunk activities including lunch and swimming, as well as sport and recreational periods. CIT's work with both specialist and bunks developing leadership and organizational skills. Daily bunk-time activities include co-ed games, group meetings and discussions, swim and water games, as well as, other recreational opportunities. As the oldest campers, CIT's are rewarded with day trips and after-hours activities supervised by their counselors, division leaders and other staff.
